Functions
- The institution has the responsibility to sensitize students and employees regarding sexual harassment issues by organizing workshops and seminars.
- Dissemination of the policies against sexual harassment.
- Conducting orientation programs for Internal Complaints Committee members.
- Publishing names and contact details of ICC members for easy access by employees and students.
- Inviting legal practitioners/NGOs for awareness and sensitization sessions on sexual harassment.
- Receiving Complaints: ICC receives complaints related to harassment, discrimination, or misconduct.
- Confidentiality: Ensuring privacy and protection of complainants, respondents, and witness information.
- Initial Assessment: Conducting preliminary assessment to verify credibility and ICC jurisdiction.
- Investigation: Gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses, and reviewing documents when needed.
- Support for Complainants: Providing guidance, resources, and support throughout the process.
- Support for Respondents: Ensuring transparency, fair hearing, and rights protection.
- Conflict Resolution: Offering mediation when agreed by both parties.
- Recommendations & Remedies: Suggesting disciplinary actions, corrective measures, and support for complainants.
- Preventive Measures: Conducting awareness programs to ensure a safe and respectful environment.
- Policy Review: Updating institutional policies in line with legal standards.
- Documentation: Maintaining records of complaints, investigations, and actions taken.
- Reporting: Submitting periodic reports to leadership or relevant authorities.
- Legal Compliance: Ensuring adherence to sexual harassment laws and regulations.
- Non-Retaliation: Protecting complainants and witnesses from victimization.
- Awareness & Training: Conducting regular training sessions for students and staff.
